As a photographer, autumn is the Cinderella at the ball moment. To me, it’s nature at her most beautiful. Steven and I love shooting vivid fall foliage. We love going to farmer’s markets and shooting pumpkins, gourds, and chrysanthemums.

Steven and I had planned for nearly a year to be in Maine right at the time this is being published. We had hoped to catch glorious fall color in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. When we first started making plans and lining up campsites, Covid wasn’t even in the picture. By May, our three-week long bucket list vacation was looking a little shaky. By August, it was gone.

This year, we will find that glorious fall color, it just will be a little closer to home.

The above picture was taken recently in the mountains of North Caroline. The picture below was taken at a local produce stand, Randy Simpson's, in Indian Trail, NC.
