Feeding The Spirit

There are times, mainly during the stress of this pandemic and the changes we have had to enact, that I feel quite empty without even realizing it. When I notice it most is while we are out shooting, especially in some beautiful place. I feel a sense of renewal, as though a void has been filled. Honestly, I don’t know if it is the beauty of the place or the act of capturing it in the camera, and I really don’t care which.

Over the years, I have found that doing something creative brings me joy. When my children were young, it was working with my hands to embroidery, sew, or make handmade gifts and ornaments. Now, Steven and I spend much of our free time immersed in photography.

A short while back, we were at this lovely waterfall. The picture above is one Steven took during this trip.

This was a" feed the spirit" moment for me. I’m so glad we have this outlet and that both of us are into it.
